I arrived at around 9pm and the door was closed. I had to go to an internet café to call the hostel, because I didn't know their number. Suddenly a angry and very unfriendly voice answered. I explained her (the receptionist) the situation, that the door was closed, but that I am just 50m (around 150feet) away from the hostel. She couldn't get it. After 15 minutes she told me to come to the hostel. She opened the door and told me it was my fault that I am so late(?????!!!!). Anyway, I checked in a really dirty, bad smelling and small room. Next day I told the receptionist that I want to leave the hostel, because of all the issues, but she told me that it's totally impossible(?????!!!!!). And by the way, she said, its normal that a hostel stinks, loud and dirty. Anyway I wanted to have at least a new room. I got one but it wasn't better. At the end I do not recommend anyone to go there. I visited other hostels in Manly which were cheaper and way better.

The value for money at Stoke Beach House was excellent. The room was cozy and comfortable, and the location couldn't have been better. The staff treated us like family and made us feel right at home.

The menu for breakfast could use some improvement, maybe adding more variety or options.

The communal space was clean and open, with a great vibe and community spirit. They offered snorkels and surf boards to rent, with helpful staff and good activities throughout the week/weekend. The staff, especially Rachel, went out of their way to ensure a great stay. The breakfast was the best hostel breakfast I've ever had, with a variety of fresh fruit, croissants, bread, spreads, muesli. The location was perfect, close to the ferry terminal, beach, bars/restaurants, and supermarkets. The beds were incredibly comfy, and the lounge room was cozy with bean bags, cushions, and a big screen with Netflix. The building was well-maintained, with a superb kitchen, hotel-level cleanliness, and curtains on beds. a fantastic stay.

I recently stayed at Stoke Beach House for a week-long trip and it was one of the best hostels I've ever experienced. The recently renovated facilities were exceptional, with a spacious and clean environment throughout. The friendly staff made me feel welcome and the wifi was consistently strong. The well-equipped kitchen, complete with a large fridge, was a bonus, and the daily breakfast offered a variety of delicious options. Additionally, the location was fantastic, with easy access to the beach and the bustling center of Manly. Highly recommended!

I recently stayed at a hostel in Manly and the only good thing about it was its location near the beach. The room was dirty and poorly maintained, with broken slats on the bed. I even ended up on the floor instead of on the bed due to the slats being spaced unevenly and covered with flat cardboard. The toilets and showers were filthy, and the room floor seemed like it had never been mopped. However, despite these drawbacks, the price was great and the check-in process was easy. The staff at the hostel were friendly and helpful, and they even stored our bags while we explored Manly. I also availed of the surfboard hire, which was reasonably priced and perfect for beginners like myself. The free pool table was a bonus, and the communal area was always buzzing with activity. I was somewhat satisfied with my stay.
